Crumbl Cookie Review!

Welcome to the Crumbl Rumble . 16 cookies are facing off in a head to head battle to determine the ultimate cookie champion. Let's find out what flavor can really pack a punch! Here. We. Go. Pink Velvet vs. Double Chocolate Chunk Pink Velvet is a cake batter flavored cookie with vanilla cream cheese frosting and a garnish of pink cookie crumbs. Double Chocolate Chunk features both semisweet chocolate chips and milk chocolate chunks with a sprinkle of sea salt. Both of these cookies were lovely, taking me back to the sweet moment of eating them. That's what I love about food; it is more than something to eat, it's a memory, too.  Pink Velvet was the first Crumbl cookie I tried about two years ago, and I was so excited to see what all the hype was about. It sure delivered! I love the ever-so-slight crunch that leads into each soft, pillowy bite. The cream cheese frosting was delicious, and there is something about eating a pink cookie that sparks serotonin. 💗  I enjoyed Dou...

If You Were a Color, What Would You Be?

Personalities can be as diverse as colors on a color wheel. We all know people who fit the bright, bubbly expression of the color yellow or the calm, welcoming aura of the color blue. I think it's interesting how people associate different colors with various emotions and types of people.  Color psychology is an entire branch of psychology that looks at how color affects human behavior. It is used by cultures to communicate rank or meaning, by psychologists to study emotion, and by businesses to send specific advertising messages to consumers. I find it fascinating that while color plays a significant role in our experience of life, it is simply a matter of perception. There is no truth of color, it's just how our minds help us process our surroundings. A video from Read Write Now does a great job explaining the common associations most Western cultures have with different colors. I provided a recap below.  Black: power, mystery, sophistication, grief, seriousness White: Sof...

Fond du Lac for Foodies

I consider myself a bit of a foodie. I love trying new restaurants, savoring different flavor combinations, and cooking up recipes of my own. This summer, I travelled throughout eastern Wisconsin for work and found a few standout restaurants in the city of Fond du Lac. Let me walk you through the enjoyable eateries I discovered. The Brick House In late June, I went to The Brick House. It's located in downtown Fond du Lac among other shops and sellers. It has a charming brick interior and eccentric iron décor. The hostess greeted me kindly, and I took in the warm, wooden ambience as she led me to my seat. I ordered mahi mahi tacos. The menu described them as "blackened mahi mahi, seasoned with slaw blend, avocado, topped with our chipotle sauce." They were both delicious and nutritious! The slaw and avocado were fresh and tasty, and the sauce was creamy with a hit of spice. The flavors and textures of the tacos were expertly tied together. I had such a lovely experience at...

Preparing for a Princess Event!

I'm lucky enough to have a job making magic. ✨ Princess performing is a culmination of many things I love: dress up, acting, and making people happy. I've attended events and birthday parties for children for over two years as your favorite Disney princesses, and I absolutely love it! Bringing these characters to life and giving the gift of magic to families is so special. It's an art that truly lights me up. There is quite the process of preparing for each event, though, and I want to guide you along the journey. CHARACTER PREPARATIONS First of all, you must have a solid foundation of knowledge about your character. You should be ready to answer any question... and kids ask  a lot  of questions. This preparation includes re-watching your princess's movie and/or tv series and preparing dialogue that aligns with what your character would say. For example, if I were preparing to be Ariel, I would keep phrases like "have a fin-tastic day," "I hope you're...

My Jeans Collection

I recently expanded and upgraded my collection of jeans by about 10 pairs. I even had a stylist help me out along the way and offer her opinions. And by that... I mean my awesome friend Brookelyn gave me a bunch of hand-me-down jeans 😄. I'm so excited to have lots of pairs to choose from to fit just the look I'm going for. Three cheers for Brookelyn!  Here are the results from my try on session and a review of each pair of jeans. Here's the lowdown, folks: #1 The Straight Leg I've been on the lookout for a pair of "mom jeans" that have been in fashion lately, and these American Eagle straight leg jeans do the job. They fit well and are comfortable overall. I'd wear these with a tighter top to offset the wide leg look.  #2 The Drippy Zippy Like the name implies, these jeans have some unique zipper accents across the upper thigh that add some "drip" to a classic blue jean. My only concern is that the pants don't fit the best on the waist, but ...

Finding A Stylist for Curly Hair

Why does it feel like nobody knows how to cut curly hair?! I've cringed as stylists reach for the brush and blow dryer and watched as my hair doubled in size. No wonder my curls look like they've gone through the wringer when they are treated like straight hair. After years of good, bad, and ugly haircuts, I've finally found a gold mine of a stylist who knows just what to do with my curly hair. Rianne at Luminous Beauty Company is the one I can trust with my hair and someone I can consult for all my curly questions. She has extensive education and experience working with textured hair, and not to mention, she's just super cool. I've been going to her for over five years now! I first met Rianne in 2016 when I worked as a receptionist at the salon she worked for. I watched as she transformed clients day in and day out using Devacurl products and techniques from the DevaCurl Academy in New York. Then I got to experience a curly cut, or Devacut , for myself. Devacurl h...

Fun with Fragrance!

Everyone likes smelling good, and there are so many wonderful scents out there that can create an aroma that is uniquely your own. From floral and citrusy to woodsy and warm, fragrance is limitless.  There are a few steps in my daily routine that help me feel fresh and delight my senses: body wash, lotion, deodorant, and perfume. I have a lot of fun trying new products and scents, but I have compiled a list of my personal favorites. It's important to note, though, that everyone gravitates towards different types and amounts of scents. For example, fragrance in makeup products seems unnecessary to me, while fragrance in skincare seems like a must. And eucalyptus is one of my least favorite scents, while for others it's their favorite. Whatever floats your boat, as they say. Let's get to the pretty smells 😊 Body Wash I really enjoy the  Love Beauty and Planet Body Washes ! I've tried the Shea Butter & Sandalwood variety and am currently using the Coconut Water & ...
