Fun with Fragrance!

Everyone likes smelling good, and there are so many wonderful scents out there that can create an aroma that is uniquely your own. From floral and citrusy to woodsy and warm, fragrance is limitless.

There are a few steps in my daily routine that help me feel fresh and delight my senses: body wash, lotion, deodorant, and perfume. I have a lot of fun trying new products and scents, but I have compiled a list of my personal favorites. It's important to note, though, that everyone gravitates towards different types and amounts of scents. For example, fragrance in makeup products seems unnecessary to me, while fragrance in skincare seems like a must. And eucalyptus is one of my least favorite scents, while for others it's their favorite. Whatever floats your boat, as they say.

Let's get to the pretty smells 😊

Body Wash

I really enjoy the Love Beauty and Planet Body Washes! I've tried the Shea Butter & Sandalwood variety and am currently using the Coconut Water & Mimosa kind. For the former, the consistency is rich and great for dry winter skin. The Coconut Water & Mimosa body wash is a bit thinner like a traditional soap, and it has a light, sweet scent. I don't really smell too much coconut though, but I am perfectly fine with that because it still smells nice and refreshing. You get a good amount of product for a good price (about $7), too.

Lotion

Another Love Beauty and Planet favorite of mine is their Happy Summer Vibes lotion. This one packs a citrusy punch and smells just like oranges! I use it on my hands every night before bed. This fragrance is bright and fun all year round, but it's more suited for Summer and Spring as the name implies. Also, I might need a more heavy-duty cream to care for my cracked winter hands.

Deodorant

The Antiperspirant Deodorant I've been using for years is the Dove Advanced Care Line. I am currently using the Rose Petals version, but my other favorite is Apple & White Tea. Rose Petals is a subtle, powdery floral scent, and the Apple & White Tea is fun and fruity. They are soft on the skin and overall reliable deodorants.

I recently started trying an aluminum free deodorant on the days where I don't really need sweat protection. The Native Aluminum Free Deodorant in Cucumber & Mint has been lovely, but in my opinion, it smells nothing like cucumber or mint! The scent is sweeter and fruitier than I imagined, which I actually prefer over cool and minty. Honestly, I've been gravitating towards this deodorant just because I like the scent so much!

Perfume

When I say perfume, I mean body mist. I think perfume can be a bit overpowering, especially for everyday use. A nice spritz of body mist in the morning is the perfect finishing touch to getting ready for the day. I often reach for Victoria's Secret Electric Beach Body Mist. This has a tropical aroma with sugar and clementine. The colorful packaging matches sweetness and playfulness of this fragrance.

I've saved the best for last. I'm telling you, THIS. SCENT. IS. PERFECTION. The Avon Vanilla & Sandalwood Body Mist has a warm and delicious scent that's perfect for heading into the holiday season. It smells a little bit like a sugar cookie from the vanilla but also has some sophistication from the sandalwood. Funny enough, my grandma gave this to me as a gift a few years ago but I never used it. This year, I finally decided to give it a go and now I'm kicking myself because I had been missing out! Grandma sure has good taste!

These are my current faves! Whether I expand the list or stick to my tried and true, I'm excited to continue having fun with fragrance.

Crumbl Cookie Review!

Welcome to the Crumbl Rumble . 16 cookies are facing off in a head to head battle to determine the ultimate cookie champion. Let's find out what flavor can really pack a punch! Here. We. Go. Pink Velvet vs. Double Chocolate Chunk Pink Velvet is a cake batter flavored cookie with vanilla cream cheese frosting and a garnish of pink cookie crumbs. Double Chocolate Chunk features both semisweet chocolate chips and milk chocolate chunks with a sprinkle of sea salt. Both of these cookies were lovely, taking me back to the sweet moment of eating them. That's what I love about food; it is more than something to eat, it's a memory, too.  Pink Velvet was the first Crumbl cookie I tried about two years ago, and I was so excited to see what all the hype was about. It sure delivered! I love the ever-so-slight crunch that leads into each soft, pillowy bite. The cream cheese frosting was delicious, and there is something about eating a pink cookie that sparks serotonin. 💗  I enjoyed Dou...

Finding A Stylist for Curly Hair

Why does it feel like nobody knows how to cut curly hair?! I've cringed as stylists reach for the brush and blow dryer and watched as my hair doubled in size. No wonder my curls look like they've gone through the wringer when they are treated like straight hair. After years of good, bad, and ugly haircuts, I've finally found a gold mine of a stylist who knows just what to do with my curly hair. Rianne at Luminous Beauty Company is the one I can trust with my hair and someone I can consult for all my curly questions. She has extensive education and experience working with textured hair, and not to mention, she's just super cool. I've been going to her for over five years now! I first met Rianne in 2016 when I worked as a receptionist at the salon she worked for. I watched as she transformed clients day in and day out using Devacurl products and techniques from the DevaCurl Academy in New York. Then I got to experience a curly cut, or Devacut , for myself. Devacurl h...

Preparing for a Princess Event!

I'm lucky enough to have a job making magic. ✨ Princess performing is a culmination of many things I love: dress up, acting, and making people happy. I've attended events and birthday parties for children for over two years as your favorite Disney princesses, and I absolutely love it! Bringing these characters to life and giving the gift of magic to families is so special. It's an art that truly lights me up. There is quite the process of preparing for each event, though, and I want to guide you along the journey. CHARACTER PREPARATIONS First of all, you must have a solid foundation of knowledge about your character. You should be ready to answer any question... and kids ask  a lot  of questions. This preparation includes re-watching your princess's movie and/or tv series and preparing dialogue that aligns with what your character would say. For example, if I were preparing to be Ariel, I would keep phrases like "have a fin-tastic day," "I hope you're...
