Dermalogica Skin Review

Dermalogica is the brand that started my commitment to skincare. I've always been mindful of my skin, but I realized that the products and ingredients you put on your face really make a difference in the short and long term. At the beginning of 2020, I decided I was ready to up my skincare game, so I purchased a trial set from Dermalogica with a cleanser, exfoliant, moisturizer, and eye cream. I have to say, I am impressed with the quality of their products. They are packaged simply and cleanly -- and that's just how their products perform.

Dermalogica has been around since 1986 and is a popular choice among skin therapists and aestheticians. Their products are also cruelty-free, gluten-free, and paraben-free and use sustainable packaging.

Let me tell you about the Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel. This cleanser has a mild lather and does a nice job refreshing and soothing the skin. I rank it four out of five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐ because I believe it has improved and maintained my skin's condition, but it's certainly not one-of-a-kind. In other words, there are other cleansers out there that could do as good of a job as this one. However, this is a reliable, "no-frills" product with ingredients I can trust.

The next product is Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant, and boy, do I love this one. Daily Microfoliant is an exfoliating rice-based powder that lathers when mixed with water, and, as the name suggests, is gentle enough to use every day. It beautifully polishes away dead skin and reveals a more even, supple complexion. For me, exfoliating every day is too much, so I tend to reach for this 2-3 times a week. I rate this product five out of five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ because it is the easiest, most effective exfoliant I've tried -- I have no complaints!

Finally is Dermalogica's Skin Smoothing Cream. My skin drinks in the moisture from this cream, and it leaves my face feeling healthy and balanced. Its center-stage ingredients include a hyaluronic acid complex, grape seed extract, and Vitamin C. I give this product a four out of five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐ because it performs well and gives my skin a hit of moisture, but I don't think it's worth the steep price. I also ran out of the travel size cream, so I have just been using up a sample I received.

Overall, I am thankful that Dermalogica helped me establish a regular skincare routine, and I think they are a great brand to go to for your skincare needs. Because they are high-end, though, their products tend to be more expensive, so I will likely only purchase select items from them. Dermalogica seems to create thoughtful, trustworthy, and professional-grade products, and my experience with their Special Cleansing Gel, Daily Microfoliant, and Skin Smoothing Cream would concur!

Crumbl Cookie Review!

Welcome to the Crumbl Rumble . 16 cookies are facing off in a head to head battle to determine the ultimate cookie champion. Let's find out what flavor can really pack a punch! Here. We. Go. Pink Velvet vs. Double Chocolate Chunk Pink Velvet is a cake batter flavored cookie with vanilla cream cheese frosting and a garnish of pink cookie crumbs. Double Chocolate Chunk features both semisweet chocolate chips and milk chocolate chunks with a sprinkle of sea salt. Both of these cookies were lovely, taking me back to the sweet moment of eating them. That's what I love about food; it is more than something to eat, it's a memory, too.  Pink Velvet was the first Crumbl cookie I tried about two years ago, and I was so excited to see what all the hype was about. It sure delivered! I love the ever-so-slight crunch that leads into each soft, pillowy bite. The cream cheese frosting was delicious, and there is something about eating a pink cookie that sparks serotonin. 💗  I enjoyed Dou...

If You Were a Color, What Would You Be?

Personalities can be as diverse as colors on a color wheel. We all know people who fit the bright, bubbly expression of the color yellow or the calm, welcoming aura of the color blue. I think it's interesting how people associate different colors with various emotions and types of people.  Color psychology is an entire branch of psychology that looks at how color affects human behavior. It is used by cultures to communicate rank or meaning, by psychologists to study emotion, and by businesses to send specific advertising messages to consumers. I find it fascinating that while color plays a significant role in our experience of life, it is simply a matter of perception. There is no truth of color, it's just how our minds help us process our surroundings. A video from Read Write Now does a great job explaining the common associations most Western cultures have with different colors. I provided a recap below.  Black: power, mystery, sophistication, grief, seriousness White: Sof...

Preparing for a Princess Event!

I'm lucky enough to have a job making magic. ✨ Princess performing is a culmination of many things I love: dress up, acting, and making people happy. I've attended events and birthday parties for children for over two years as your favorite Disney princesses, and I absolutely love it! Bringing these characters to life and giving the gift of magic to families is so special. It's an art that truly lights me up. There is quite the process of preparing for each event, though, and I want to guide you along the journey. CHARACTER PREPARATIONS First of all, you must have a solid foundation of knowledge about your character. You should be ready to answer any question... and kids ask  a lot  of questions. This preparation includes re-watching your princess's movie and/or tv series and preparing dialogue that aligns with what your character would say. For example, if I were preparing to be Ariel, I would keep phrases like "have a fin-tastic day," "I hope you're...
