Petal Pink Makeup Look

Springtime is officially here! One of my favorite things about this time of year is the smell of spring. After a long winter, the smell of warmth, sunshine, and dew are so refreshing. Spring also makes me think of the color pink, so I decided to ring in the season with a petal pink makeup look to match the blooming flower buds. 🌸

I began with a fresh face, prepped with skincare for a smooth canvas. Then I applied BB cream and concealer to even out my skin tone and brighten underneath the eyes and chin. A light layer of powder across the center of the face sealed the deal.

Next came the brows -- I applied my favorite tinted brow gel for some definition and hold. Then I dabbed a touch of rosy pink blush on the cheeks and added highlighter on the cheekbones and tip of the nose for a youthful glow.

The eyes were where I played around the most. I used an Ulta eyeshadow in the shade Beauty Junkie, and might I say, it is stunning. It's a sparkly pink shade that you can build up for intensity or blend out for barely-there color. For this look, I wanted a softer effect with the illusion of lifting the eyes up. I placed a piece of tape at the edge of the eye towards the end of the brow -- this makes sure there's no fallout from the eyeshadow and gives you a clean, sharp edge. Then I took a thin eyeshadow brush and lined the outer wing of my eye with the pink shadow and proceeded to blend the color into the outer third of my eyelid with a small, fluffy brush.

Then I took to the lower lash line, softly defining the eyes with a black cream liner and using my fingertips to blend it out further. From there I applied a generous coat of mascara to my upper lashes. Personally, I don't like the way my lower lashes look with mascara, so I just leave them be. Overall, I love the way the eyes turned out. They have a softness and sweetness to them that's perfect for spring.

Last but not least, I applied my favorite pink lipstick from NYX. I also placed a touch of clear gloss on the center of my lips for that extra pout.

Here is the before...

... and after!

And since pink is the star of the show, here are the swatches from (+links to!) the NYX Matte Lipstick in Natural and Ulta Eyeshadow in Beauty Junkie:

That concludes my springtime inspired look! I had a lot of fun playing around with makeup I don't always reach for. Paired with a bubbly pink top and my favorite flats, I took on the day with a spring in my step 😉

Crumbl Cookie Review!

Welcome to the Crumbl Rumble . 16 cookies are facing off in a head to head battle to determine the ultimate cookie champion. Let's find out what flavor can really pack a punch! Here. We. Go. Pink Velvet vs. Double Chocolate Chunk Pink Velvet is a cake batter flavored cookie with vanilla cream cheese frosting and a garnish of pink cookie crumbs. Double Chocolate Chunk features both semisweet chocolate chips and milk chocolate chunks with a sprinkle of sea salt. Both of these cookies were lovely, taking me back to the sweet moment of eating them. That's what I love about food; it is more than something to eat, it's a memory, too.  Pink Velvet was the first Crumbl cookie I tried about two years ago, and I was so excited to see what all the hype was about. It sure delivered! I love the ever-so-slight crunch that leads into each soft, pillowy bite. The cream cheese frosting was delicious, and there is something about eating a pink cookie that sparks serotonin. 💗  I enjoyed Dou...

Fun with Fragrance!

Everyone likes smelling good, and there are so many wonderful scents out there that can create an aroma that is uniquely your own. From floral and citrusy to woodsy and warm, fragrance is limitless.  There are a few steps in my daily routine that help me feel fresh and delight my senses: body wash, lotion, deodorant, and perfume. I have a lot of fun trying new products and scents, but I have compiled a list of my personal favorites. It's important to note, though, that everyone gravitates towards different types and amounts of scents. For example, fragrance in makeup products seems unnecessary to me, while fragrance in skincare seems like a must. And eucalyptus is one of my least favorite scents, while for others it's their favorite. Whatever floats your boat, as they say. Let's get to the pretty smells 😊 Body Wash I really enjoy the  Love Beauty and Planet Body Washes ! I've tried the Shea Butter & Sandalwood variety and am currently using the Coconut Water & ...

Preparing for a Princess Event!

I'm lucky enough to have a job making magic. ✨ Princess performing is a culmination of many things I love: dress up, acting, and making people happy. I've attended events and birthday parties for children for over two years as your favorite Disney princesses, and I absolutely love it! Bringing these characters to life and giving the gift of magic to families is so special. It's an art that truly lights me up. There is quite the process of preparing for each event, though, and I want to guide you along the journey. CHARACTER PREPARATIONS First of all, you must have a solid foundation of knowledge about your character. You should be ready to answer any question... and kids ask  a lot  of questions. This preparation includes re-watching your princess's movie and/or tv series and preparing dialogue that aligns with what your character would say. For example, if I were preparing to be Ariel, I would keep phrases like "have a fin-tastic day," "I hope you're...
