Glossier Skin Review

One beauty trend that has taken off in the last few years is the idea of "less is more." From natural no-makeup-makeup looks to elevated skincare techniques, tools, and ingredients, beauty is becoming more and more about authenticity. One major player in this trend is Glossier. This big-time brand is the queen of glowy skin, groomed brows, and a healthy flush, featuring lines in skincare, makeup, body care, and fragrance.

Over the past three weeks I've tested out five of Glossier's best selling skin products... and I'm hooked! If the aesthetics of the simple-yet-chic packaging weren't enough, the way my skin has looked and felt seals the deal. Plus, Glossier values diversity and representation, eco-friendly packaging, and natural based ingredients.

The products I've added to my skincare regimen are Milky Jelly Cleanser, Futuredew, Super Bounce Serum, Priming Moisturizer Rich, and Balm Dotcom.

Let's get into product number 1: Milky Jelly Cleanser

Starting your day with a great cleanser can help you put your best face forward -- literally. I dispense about two pumps of Milky Jelly Cleanser onto my fingers and massage into wet skin. The consistency is like a cream, and it doesn't lather. Most cleansers leave my face feeling a bit tight, but not with this one! My skin feels nice and clean afterwards, and the biggest thing I notice is the softness. My face is soft, supple, and prepped from ingredients like rose water and comfrey root extract.

Product Number 2: Futuredew

This oil serum fusion is practically magic, instantly making your skin look radiant.✨ The directions say to apply two pumps as the last step in your skincare routine, but one pump is plenty for me. Futuredew is formulated with four main oils -- jojoba, grape seed, evening primrose, and rosehip -- that both hydrate the skin and help achieve that signature Glossier glow. I am really impressed by how much of a difference this product makes!

Product Number 3: Super Bounce

The Super Bounce hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 serum gives the skin a hit of moisture and an overall smooth feel, or "an instantly soft, smooth (never sticky!) canvas," as Glossier puts it. I use Super Bounce at night before my moisturizer, and it delivers on it's claim! I also feel like I have to apply less moisturizer when I use this beforehand. Out of the Glossier products I've tried, Super Bounce has the least wow factor for me, but there's just something luxurious about using a serum, right?

Product Number 4: Priming Moisturizer Rich

Winding down for bed is all the more relaxing with a lavender-scented night cream like Priming Moisturizer Rich. This cream is formulated with shea and murumuru butters to deeply nourish the skin and lock in moisture. The struggle is real when it comes to dry winter air and freezing temperatures here in Minnesota, but this moisturizer keeps up with the cold. My one complaint is that I feel you don't get much product for the price and that it runs low fairly quickly.

Product Number 5: Balm Dotcom

Last but not least is Balm Dotcom -- which, might I say, is quite the clever name 😉. This "universal skin salve" comes in nine flavors and adorable packaging. I mean, look at these minis! It's a thicker formula than other lip balms due to the petrolatum, so you don't need to apply much. I've tried Original and Rose, and while the Rose flavor is supposed to deliver a slight pink tint, I can't tell a difference. Overall, these give the lips a healthy sheen and are just really fun to use!

And that's a wrap on Glossier. Milky Jelly Cleanser, Futuredew, Super Bouce, Priming Moisturizer Rich, and Balm Dotcom are delightful products that make me feel more confident in my skin -- with or without makeup. Less really is more!

Crumbl Cookie Review!

Welcome to the Crumbl Rumble . 16 cookies are facing off in a head to head battle to determine the ultimate cookie champion. Let's find out what flavor can really pack a punch! Here. We. Go. Pink Velvet vs. Double Chocolate Chunk Pink Velvet is a cake batter flavored cookie with vanilla cream cheese frosting and a garnish of pink cookie crumbs. Double Chocolate Chunk features both semisweet chocolate chips and milk chocolate chunks with a sprinkle of sea salt. Both of these cookies were lovely, taking me back to the sweet moment of eating them. That's what I love about food; it is more than something to eat, it's a memory, too.  Pink Velvet was the first Crumbl cookie I tried about two years ago, and I was so excited to see what all the hype was about. It sure delivered! I love the ever-so-slight crunch that leads into each soft, pillowy bite. The cream cheese frosting was delicious, and there is something about eating a pink cookie that sparks serotonin. 💗  I enjoyed Dou...

Fun with Fragrance!

Everyone likes smelling good, and there are so many wonderful scents out there that can create an aroma that is uniquely your own. From floral and citrusy to woodsy and warm, fragrance is limitless.  There are a few steps in my daily routine that help me feel fresh and delight my senses: body wash, lotion, deodorant, and perfume. I have a lot of fun trying new products and scents, but I have compiled a list of my personal favorites. It's important to note, though, that everyone gravitates towards different types and amounts of scents. For example, fragrance in makeup products seems unnecessary to me, while fragrance in skincare seems like a must. And eucalyptus is one of my least favorite scents, while for others it's their favorite. Whatever floats your boat, as they say. Let's get to the pretty smells 😊 Body Wash I really enjoy the  Love Beauty and Planet Body Washes ! I've tried the Shea Butter & Sandalwood variety and am currently using the Coconut Water & ...

Preparing for a Princess Event!

I'm lucky enough to have a job making magic. ✨ Princess performing is a culmination of many things I love: dress up, acting, and making people happy. I've attended events and birthday parties for children for over two years as your favorite Disney princesses, and I absolutely love it! Bringing these characters to life and giving the gift of magic to families is so special. It's an art that truly lights me up. There is quite the process of preparing for each event, though, and I want to guide you along the journey. CHARACTER PREPARATIONS First of all, you must have a solid foundation of knowledge about your character. You should be ready to answer any question... and kids ask  a lot  of questions. This preparation includes re-watching your princess's movie and/or tv series and preparing dialogue that aligns with what your character would say. For example, if I were preparing to be Ariel, I would keep phrases like "have a fin-tastic day," "I hope you're...
